How to create a new account
Tap "New account" on the Accounts page. Fill type-specific fields.

To create a new account in Extrack, open the Accounts page and tap "New account" (top-right). Fill in the "Account label" (placeholder: "e.g. SBI Bank, Cash"), pick a Type, set the opening balance (label varies — "Starting balance", "Credit limit", "Principal owed (opening)" or "Principal lent (opening)"), fill any type-specific fields, and save.
Steps
Accounts → "New account"
Top-right button on the Accounts page. Opens the New account modal.
Pick a type
Dropdown lists: Checking / savings, Credit card, Loan, Investment, Other. The opening-balance label and extra fields shift based on the type you pick.
Name it (Account label)
Short and unique — "HDFC Salary", "Amex Plat", "Home loan". Placeholder reads "e.g. SBI Bank, Cash".
Set the opening balance
The field label adapts: "Starting balance" (Checking, Investment, Other), "Credit limit" (Credit card), "Principal owed (opening)" or "Principal lent (opening)" (Loan).
Fill type-specific fields
Credit card: "Statement closes (day)", "Payment due (day)", "Annual fees", "Min. annual spend", "Annual fee renewal date". Loan: optional person link, "Loan start date", "Term (months, optional)", "Interest rate % p.a. (optional)". Investment: start date, duration, interest rate. Checking: "Min. average balance (optional)".
Save
Account is live; every transaction picker now lists it.
Frequently asked
Can I import history from my bank?
No — Extrack is user-entered. Set the opening balance to whatever the bank shows today and log forward from there.
Is there a limit on number of accounts?
No hard limit. Most users have 3–15.
