How to delete an account

Delete via the row action. Permanent. Close is usually better.

On this page

To delete an account in Extrack, open the Accounts page, find the row, tap its Delete action. A confirm dialog reads: "Delete account "{Name}"? This cannot be undone from the UI." Confirm only if you really want every transaction posted to or from the account removed. For accounts you stopped using, close them instead.

Steps

  1. Find the account on the Accounts page

Use the Type filter (Checking / savings, Credit card, Loan, Investment, Other, Lent) or the visibility toggles to narrow the list.

  2. Tap the Delete action on the row

Confirm dialog: "Delete account "{Name}"? This cannot be undone from the UI."

  3. Confirm

Account vanishes along with every transaction posted to or from it.

Bulk delete

For multiple accounts, use the checkboxes to select rows. A bulk-action bar appears at the bottom with a "Delete selected accounts?" confirm flow.

Deletes are permanent. The confirm dialog says so explicitly. There is no trash bin, no soft-delete.

Frequently asked

Can I delete the Cash account?

Yes if it has no transactions and at least one other account exists. Cash is a starter account but is not protected.

What about per-person Lent receivable accounts?

Those are auto-created. Delete them by removing the underlying transactions (the lends/splits) — the receivable closes automatically when its source is removed.
