How to create a category
Tap "New category" on the page, or type a new name in the Categories field on a transaction.

To create a category in Extrack, open the Categories page and tap "New category". Type a name (the only field on the form) and save. Or create inline while making a transaction — type a new name in the "Categories (optional)" field and pick the "Create category…" option that surfaces; a small form opens with the new name prefilled.
Steps
From the Categories page
Categories → "New category" (top-right). A small modal opens with one Name field.
Or inline from a transaction
On the New transaction modal, type the new category name in the "Categories (optional)" field. The picker shows a "Create category…" option — tap it to open the quick-create form with the name prefilled.
Save
Category is live. Every transaction picker now lists it.
Frequently asked
Can I set an icon or color?
No — the only field is the name. Categories stay visually consistent across the app.
How do I rename a category later?
Categories → tap the category → Edit → new name → Save. Every transaction tagged with it updates automatically.
