On this page

To add income in Extrack, open the New transaction modal, tap the Income kind button at the top, enter an amount and pick the "Received into" account. Optionally add categories, people, name, date. Tap Create. Income increases the receiving account balance, never counts toward budgets, and shows in the Income totals on Reports.

Steps

  1. Open the New transaction modal

Floating + button, or "New transaction" header button on the Transactions page.

  2. Switch to the Income kind

Top of the modal — Expense / Income / Transfer. Tap Income. The amount field stays, the account field re-labels to "Received into".

  3. Enter the amount and "Received into" account

The account that received the money — usually a bank account. Salary, freelance payouts, dividends, gifts and refunds all count as income.

  4. Optional: name, date, categories, people

Same fields as Expense. Categories like Salary, Freelance, Interest, Refunds keep Reports useful.

  5. Tap Create

The account balance jumps; the row appears at the top of Transactions.

Frequently asked

Does income count toward my monthly budget?

No. Budgets track outflow only. Income posts to the ledger and account balance but never consumes any cap.

How do I record a refund — Income or negative Expense?

Use Income with a Refunds category. That keeps the original expense honest and the refund visible separately on Reports.

Can I tag people on Income too?

Yes. The People field is present on Expense and Income. Tagging a person on income with the split flow settles their "Lent" receivable — useful when a friend pays you back.
