Create a category inline from a transaction
Type a new name → picker offers "Create category…" → quick-create form.

You do not have to leave the New transaction modal to create a new category. Type any new name in the "Categories (optional)" field and the picker offers a "Create category…" option. Tapping it opens a small quick-create form with the name prefilled — confirm to add it to your category list and attach it to the in-progress transaction in one step.
Steps
Type a new name in the Categories field
The field hint reads "Type to search or create a category." Existing names autocomplete; a "Create category…" option appears at the bottom when there is no exact match.
Tap "Create category…"
A quick-create form opens with the name prefilled and Back / Create buttons.
Tap Create
New category is saved and immediately attached to the transaction. Continue with the form.
Frequently asked
Can I add an icon or color from the quick-create form?
No — the quick-create form only has the name field, same as the full Categories page.
