How to edit a recurring series (or a single occurrence)

Edit modal has a scope radio: Entire series vs This occurrence.

On this page

To edit a recurring item in Extrack, open the Recurring page, tap Edit on the row. A scope radio at the top of the form lets you pick "Entire series" (changes the template for future occurrences) or "This occurrence" (changes only this single slot; frequency locked). Save. Past posted occurrences stay as-is; the edit applies forward from here.

Steps

  1. Tap Edit on the recurring row

Form opens with the scope radio at the top.

  2. Pick the scope

"Entire series" edits the template — frequency, amount, accounts, category. "This occurrence" edits just this single slot — frequency is locked.

  3. Save

For Entire series, future occurrences use the new values. For This occurrence, only this slot changes; subsequent occurrences continue with the original template.

Frequently asked

Why are past occurrences not updated?

Past occurrences are now Transactions — independent rows. Editing the template would silently rewrite history; that would break Reports. Edit the individual rows on Transactions if you need to.

Why is frequency locked on "This occurrence"?

Changing frequency only makes sense for the whole series — a single slot does not have its own cadence.
