How to tag people on a transaction
Type comma-separated names in the People field. Directory entries auto-create.
On this page
To tag people on a transaction in Extrack, open the New transaction modal and use the "People (optional)" field. Placeholder: "Names or groups, comma-separated". Existing directory names autocomplete as you type; new names create directory entries when you Save. Tagged people appear on the row and on the per-person activity feed. Splits and settle-splits are built on top of the same field.
Steps
Open a new or existing transaction
Either tap the + button or tap a row's Edit action.
Type into the People field
Comma-separated names. Autocomplete suggests existing directory entries; type a new name to create a new entry on save.
Optional: set up a split
Once you have people in and an amount entered, a prompt appears — "Split this expense?" or "Settle a split?" Tap "Yes, set up split" to allocate shares.
Save
Tags attach. Splits create per-person "{Name}'s Lent" receivable accounts the first time a name is used.
Tagging vs splitting
Tagging alone (no split) records that a person was involved but does not move money to a receivable. Useful for grouping (e.g. "Gift to Mom" with Mom tagged). The moment you tap "Yes, set up split", Extrack creates allocations that post to the per-person receivable accounts.
Frequently asked
Can I tag more than one person?
Yes. The field accepts any number of comma-separated names. Each becomes its own row in the Adjust split panel when you set up a split.
How do I un-tag someone?
Edit the transaction, remove the name from the People field (delete the chip / text), save. If they had a receivable from this transaction, it closes.
What is the People directory?
It is the address book of names you have used. Edit it from the People page — clean up duplicates, rename, or remove orphaned entries.
