Set the overall monthly cap
Tap "Set overall budget". Card shows cap, days left, daily run-rate.

To set the overall monthly cap in Extrack, open the Budgets page. The empty overall card shows the headline "Set a monthly budget" with body "Pick a single top-line number to stay under for the month." and a "Set overall budget" button. Tap it, type the amount, save. The card now shows your cap with current spend, days left, percent consumed and "Per day to land at cap".
Steps
Open Budgets
Empty overall card carries the "Set a monthly budget" headline plus the "Set overall budget" amber button.
Tap "Set overall budget"
A modal opens with one Amount field.
Type the amount and save
Pick a number based on the last 2–3 months of real spend, not aspiration. Save.
Read the stats grid
Once capped, the card shows current spend vs cap, percent consumed, days left in month and "Per day to land at cap". The button label changes to "Edit overall".
Frequently asked
How is "Per day to land at cap" calculated?
Remaining cap ÷ days left in month. Tells you the daily allowance for the rest of the month if you want to hit exactly your cap.
I am over my cap — what happens?
Nothing automatic — Extrack does not block transactions. The status pill flips to "Over cap" in rose, and the card shows "Over by ₹X". Caps are feedback signals, not guardrails.
