Budgets in Extrack are monthly spending caps with three status pills — On track / Approaching cap / Over cap. This section covers how they work, setting overall vs per-category caps, month navigation, and how to pick caps you will actually hold. Budgets is VIP-gated.

How budgets work in Extrack
Monthly caps. One overall, plus per-category. Pills: On track / Approaching cap / Over cap.
Set the overall monthly cap
Tap "Set overall budget". Card shows cap, days left, daily run-rate.
Set a per-category budget cap
Tap "Set cap" on an uncapped category. Row moves to "Capped categories".
What "Over cap" means
Cap exceeded. Pill turns rose; card shows "Over by ₹X". Nothing blocks.
Navigate budgets across months
Chevrons walk months. "This month" returns to the present.
How to remove a budget cap
Open the cap modal, tap Remove.
Set realistic budget caps
Last 2–3 months of real spend as the floor. Aspirational caps fail.
